My Story
Hello, and thanks for your interest in our services. My name is Matt Lane, and I'm the owner-operator of BritCraft here in Lexington, Kentucky. I began my career straight out of high school with a five-year carpentry and joinery apprenticeship accredited by the Institute of Carpenters and City & Guilds of London. The program was highly focused on practical skills and gave me a strong foundation in classical joinery techniques, along with a deep understanding of architectural and design principles.
Since relocating, I’ve continued my craft and stayed current with industry standards through 25 credits of continuing education via the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA). These programs have strengthened my approach to design, project planning, and construction detailing.
At BritCraft, my work focuses on fine finish carpentry, built-in cabinetry, and bespoke interior woodwork. Every project is approached with an emphasis on clean execution, lasting quality, and thoughtful detailing melding British craftsmanship with a deep understanding of American homes and client expectations.
